Adrian Amelse, Sr. Director, Security Technology Group, Cisco Systems, Inc. Adrian grew up in Madison, Wisconsin and has an undergraduate degree from University of Wisconsin and a MBA from Santa Clara University. Adrian joined Cisco Systems, Inc. ten years ago and has held various marketing, manufacturing and engineering roles in Access Routers, Gigabit Switch Routers and Network Security. Currently he is the Sr. Director in IOS & Router Security and leads a marketing and engineering team with 75 employees, who are responsible for driving the strategy for IOS and Router security in Cisco’s Security Technology Group (STG). His team members are located in Chennai India; San Jose, California; Boulder, Colorado and Boxborough, Massachusetts. Prior to joining Cisco Systems, Inc. he worked for two years at Net FRAME Systems and was at Apple Computer for over six years which was his first job out of college. |

Pip Coburn, Principal & Founder, Coburn Ventures Pip Coburn founded, along with his core team from UBS, a firm named Coburn Ventures, an organization that puts its knowledge about "change" to work in the realm of technology, telecom, and media investing. Prior to founding Coburn Ventures, Pip Coburn was a Managing Director and the global technology strategist in the technology group of UBS Investment Research. At UBS, he was responsible for integrating the research efforts of 120 technology and telecom analysts worldwide, and from 1999 through 2005 was a member of the firm wide Investment Committee. He has been featured in Fast Company, Barron’s, Fortune, Smart Money and MIT's Technology Review. For three years Pip wrote as a guest columnist for the Red Herring. Pip studies change for a living. In addition to writing over 300 weekly reports about technology investing, in 2004 and 2005 he released two long-term think-pieces, The Nutcracker Suite and Sour and The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Changing Galaxy. These reports focus on the user-oriented "Change Function" — a mental model Pip has developed that describes why change takes place and why various technologies are either adopted or not. John Morgridge, Chairman of the Board, Cisco Systems Morgridge helped set the culture of Cisco; one of innovation, empowerment, frugality and giving back. As Chairman, he continues to champion a range of education and corporate citizenship initiatives, and is a guiding force behind the company's long-term commitment to focusing on basic human needs, responsible citizenship and access to education. He teaches management at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business and serves on its School of Business Advisory Council. In 1996, he received Stanford's Arbuckle Award for excellence in management leadership. Prior to Cisco, Morgridge was president and COO of GRiD Systems, and before that held senior positions with Stratus Computer and Honeywell Information Systems. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin and an MBA from Stanford. Mickey North Rizza, Research Director, AMR Research, Inc. Mickey brings twenty years of global sourcing and supply chain management experience to her role as research director in the procurement and sourcing practice at AMR Research. Monica Schrager, Senior Strategic Analyst, Fry, Inc. Since joining Fry in 1999, Monica has worked with clients to develop the online strategy and optimal user experience for their transactional online applications. She helps clients define user groups and their needs, conducts usability testing with those groups, evaluates and documents features, and then works closely with members of other Fry disciplines to ensure delivery of the applications. Monica also helps to define Web site management requirements and conducts client training on management tools. She assists with the implementation of Fry partners' search, data analysis and rich product imaging tools such as Endeca, EasyAsk, WebTrends, RichFX and Scene7. Richard Thieme, Principal, ThiemeWorks Thieme was born in Chicago, Illinois, in 1944 and graduated from Northwestern University in 1965 with a B.A. in English literature (highest honors, Phi Beta Kappa). His non-academic education included working with the Daley political organization. After living in Madrid, Spain for a year, he attended the University of Chicago (Title IV NDEA Fellow) and received an M.A. in English literature. He taught literature and writing at the University of Illinois-Chicago and wrote fiction in his twenties. Then, after two years in England and a three-year professional Master's degree from Seabury-Western Theological Seminary, he became an Episcopal priest and led parishes for sixteen years in three very different cultures: Salt Lake City, Utah; the Hawaiian island of Maui; and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. His passion for exploring the impact of technology on institutions and organizations — business, education, government, religion — and his extensive experience with leadership, management, organizational dynamics, and cultural diversity led him to establish ThiemeWorks in 1993 to pursue a career of professional speaking, consulting, and writing. |
